All our products are developed, designed and hand-built by our 50 dedicated staff at our facility in Videbaek, Denmark.

Ellipticor
With the Ellipticor family we have broken away from the traditional circular motor structures and resolved their inherent breakup behavior.
Perhaps not surprisingly judging by the name, Ellipticor’s key features are an elliptical shaped voice coil and magnet gap. Combined with our powerful SD AirCirc principle the Ellipticor transducers have high sensitivity, very low distortion, and have an extremely fast response to transients. In particular the sonic performance of the midrange and treble is outstanding. The sound is clean, transparent and has amazing transient behavior. There is absolutely nothing that´s introverted about these drivers.
Above all a TRUE TO LIVE sound makes Ellipticors among the very best loudspeaker transducers on the market!
At present our Ellipticor family is small but work is in progress to expand the family with more models and sizes to fit our customer’s needs for outstanding high end transducers.
Illuminator
Products in the Illuminator family feature a wealth of advanced technologies, materials and sophisticated designs. Their common features are the underhung voice coil configuration and a large linear excursion capability.
Carefully designed and combined with a unique cone structure, the transparency, detail and lack of distortion even at higher levels is hard to find elsewhere.
In the end it all comes down to one thing; a loudspeaker should not have a sound of its own and should faithfully reproduce the signal flowing through the voice coil without adding or removing anything. The transducers in the Illuminator family do that better than most other products that we know of!
Revelator
Products in our Revelator family have been an industry standard in high end loudspeaker systems for many years. The key feature being the filled cone slits for the midwoofers and midranges which reproduce music at a dynamic level and clarity that at the time of introduction was unparalleled in the market. The tweeters are predominately designed with a large roll surround, powerful ring Neodymium magnets and optimized airflow systems.
The latest addition to the Revelator family is a 20mm dome tweeter. The large woofers and subwoofers are relatively new additions too and represent an increase in cone excursion and dynamic capability with impressive transient behavior.
Within the wide Revelator range you will find everything you need when it comes to high end audio transducers, whether you need drivers for a small 2-way system or a giant multi-way loudspeaker. The Revelator family can supply it all with superb performance and quality.
Classic
The many decades’ heritage, quality and success of Scan-Speak’s designs are found in the Classic family with such patented and proprietary technologies as: Symmetrical Drive, Low Loss Linear Suspension, cones of air dried carbon reinforced paper and nylon reinforced paper. Our latest addition is a new 15 cm midwoofer made with a multilayer material called “Phenomax”.
Our Classic tweeters are also the result of careful design and craftsmanship. Our 20 mm Tweeters D2008‘s and D2010’s have provided the excellent treble in many famous loudspeakers since the 1970’s. Our 28mm D2905/ tweeters have evolved over the years from the initial designs into four parts; the 9000, 9300, 9500 and 9700 models all with select and coated textile diaphragms on carefully designed motor and chamber combinations.
The Classic drivers have been the heart of many iconic loudspeaker designs over the years and continue to be so.
Discovery
The Discovery family is one of the largest lines in Scan-Speak’s families of drivers. This family was established to make certain that our customers would have access to high quality Danish designed and built drivers at an affordable price. Although affordable, make no mistake that there has been nothing compromised about these drivers’ build quality or sonic performance.
The Discovery family’s line of products offers a very large variety of choice. You can build loudspeaker systems from tiny desktop models to big systems with 12” woofers and even a passive radiator all from this family. The design is based on traditional electroacoustic knowledge and craftsmanship. The cones are made of a glass fibre material coated to achieve proper damping and all cones are shaped with the NRSC (Non Resonant Suspension Coupling) principle that ensures smooth sound pressure frequency response.
In this family, our well-known design, namely the 3” dome midrange D7608, still goes strong in terms of quality and performance despite its many years on the market. The 5F and 10F drivers are noteworthy as they deliver, we believe, unparalleled performance for their size.
To fans of Danish loudspeaker design the Discovery tweeters will be recognized as almost “classic” unto themselves. They include a range of mostly fabric diaphragms in closed or chambered magnet systems and the diaphragms are either traditional domes or ring radiators.
